MEMORANDUM O SARADNJI IZMEĐU MINISTARSTVA SPOLJNIH POSLOVA REPUBLIKE SRBIJE I MINISTARSTVA SPOLJNIH POSLOVA REPUBLIKE POLJSKE U OBLASTI EVROPSKIH INTEGRACIJA - MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND IN THE FIELD OF EUROPEAN INTEGRATION ("Sl. glasnik RS - Međunarodni ugovori", br. 8/2013)

Having regard to the excellent bilateral relation between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Poland;

Taking into account that the Republic of Poland has been a member of the European Union since 1, May 2004;

Recalling that the Republic of Serbia is a candidate country with the strategic objective to become a member of the European Union;

Taking into consideration the experience of the Polish authorities in negotiations on accession to the European Union and the Decision of the European Council to grant candidate status to the Republic of Serbia;

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland (hereinafter referred as the "Parties") have agreed as follows:

Article 1

The Parties shall further enhance and encourage mutual cooperation among state bodies and institutions, with a view to assisting Serbia on its European path, through the exchange of experience and expertise in the implementation of EU policies.

Article 2

1. The aforementioned cooperation between the Parties shall be conducted during the accession process of Serbia (before opening of the negotiations) and in the areas covered in the accession negotiation process (when negotiations starts).

2. Funding of the activities decided under this Memorandum shall be made using the mechanisms of institutional cooperation and funding available in the framework of the European Union (TAIEX).

Article 3

This Memorandum of Cooperation shall come into effect upon its signing and is concluded for an indefinite period.

It may be amended or modified by mutual written agreement of the Parties or by exchange of notes.
