MEMORANDUMOF UNDERSTANDING ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF TOURISM BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF TRADE, TOURISM AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM, AIR TRANSPORT, HANDICRAFTS AND SOCIAL ECONOMY OF THE KINGDOM OF MOROCCO("Off. Herald of RS - Treaties", No. 4/2019) |
The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicrafts and Social Economy of Kingdom of Morocco
hereinafter referred to as "the Contracting Parties",
Conscious of the role played by tourism in promoting friendship and understanding between the people, and
Convinced of the need to promote active cooperation between the two countries, given their potentials in the field of tourism;
Have agreed on the following:
Article 1
The Contracting Parties will be subject to the terms of this Memorandum of Understanding and jointly decide to strengthen, promote and develop co-operation between the two countries in the field of tourism on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
Article 2
The Contracting Parties shall take the necessary measures to encourage and expand tourism exchanges between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Morocco.
For this purpose, they shall both promote cooperation between the official tourism organizations in each country.
Article 3
The Contracting Parties shall cooperate in mutually activating and promoting tourism through publications, promotion materials and by organizing tourism manifestations.
Article 4
The Contracting Parties shall agree to strengthen their cooperation in the field of tourism events through:
- The participation in tourism related exhibitions and fairs organized in each country.
- The organization of tourism and gastronomic weeks in both countries.
Article 5
The Contracting Parties shall encourage cooperation in the field of professional training by the exchange of students and trainees between their concerned institutions.
Article 6
The Contracting Parties shall agree to establish and develop the exchange of information between the two countries in the field of:
- tourism promotion;
- tourism investment in both countries;
- documentation (statistics, studies, and brochures...).
Article 7
The Contracting Parties shall mutually encourage their Travel Agencies, National Tourist Organizations and National Transport Companies to collaborate in order to promote their respective tourist destinations.
Article 8
The Contracting Parties shall encourage the organization of visits and road shows on investment opportunities for investors of both countries.
Article 9
The Contracting Parties shall encourage the exchange of experience concerning the management of thermal spas and resorts.
Article 10
The Contracting Parties shall agree to coordinate the positions of their countries on the international level, mainly on the level of the World Tourism Organizations (UNWTO).
Article 11
The Contracting Parties shall establish a Working Group specialized for tourism in order to monitor and suggest measures for the implementation of this Memorandum of Understanding.
The Working Group shall meet alternately in Serbia and Morocco on mutually agreeable dates.
Article 12
This Memorandum of Understanding shall enter into force on the date of signature. This Memorandum of Understanding shall remain in force for five (5) years and shall be automatically renewed for similar periods, unless any Contracting Party notifies the other of its will to terminate it by giving a three-month (3) advance notice, in writing, to the other Party.
Done at Rabat, on 6 th March 2019 in two original copies in Serbian, Arabic, and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence of interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
