MEMORANDUM
ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELDS OF YOUTH AND SPORTS BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TUNISIA

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Republic of Tunisia, hereinafter referred to as "The contracting parties",

Considering interest of strengthening friendship and cooperation between the contracting parties,

Desiring to promote and encourage cooperation in the fields of youth and sports between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Tunisia,

Pursuant to the prevailing laws and regulations in their respective countries,

Have agreed as follows:

Article 1

The contracting parties shall endeavor to establish, maintain and further strengthen cooperation in the fields of youth and sports.

The contracting parties shall endeavor to promote and encourage cooperation in the fields of youth and sports and shall support development of direct contacts and friendly relations between youth and sports organizations of two countries, on the basis of reciprocity, mutual understanding and benefit.

Article 2

In the field of youth, contracting parties have agreed to cooperate in the following areas:

1) Exchange of experience between government officials in charge of youth policy of the two countries in the field of legal regulation and examples of good practice in cooperation with youth organizations and associations.

2) Exchange of experience between competent authorities of two countries in providing support to projects realized by associations implementing youth activities that contribute to development and fulfilment of the young people potential for their own benefit and the benefit of the society.

3) Exchange of experiences between the contracting parties in establishing, functioning and sustainability of institutions in the youth sector, implementation of national youth programs, monitoring of the situation and needs of young people.

4) Encouraging youth delegations to participate in manifestation, festivals, seminars, forums, conferences, camps that are implemented on the territory of one contracting party and exchange of information and materials about relevant events concerning young people.

5) Other youth activities agreed by the contracting parties.

Article 3

In the field of sports, the contracting parties have agreed to cooperate in the following areas:

1) Encouraging exchange and cooperation between sports professionals and experts in sports in the field of competitive sports, sports for all, sports for persons with disabilities, sports for women, sports medicine and physical culture.

2) Encouraging participation of the contracting parties’ delegations in national and international sports events.

3) Exchange of sports delegations, experts and athletes, through participation in training, seminars and conferences in two countries, as well as the exchange of publications concerning the system and educational programs in sports.

4) Cooperation and exchange of information in the field of sports tourism, establishment of appropriate conditions for competitions and preparations of athletes and organization of sports camps on the basis of reciprocity.

5) Establishing cooperation in the field of fighting negative occurrences in sport and exchange of knowledge and experience in this field.

6) Encouraging exchange of knowledge in sports branches disciplines and areas that are of a particular interest to the contracting parties and building network between competent national sports associations of contracting parties for a mutual cooperation, aiming to sports development.

7) Establishing the Day of sports friendship between contracting parties, during which, on the basis of the rotation, contracting parties would organize friendly games and exhibition matches.

8) Other activities in the field of sports agreed by the contracting parties.

Article 4

In the field of sports science, research and infrastructure, the contracting parties have agreed to cooperate in the following areas:

1) Cooperation in the field of sports science, research and infrastructure, through participation of experts from the contracting parties in joint seminars, conferences, symposia and other events in those fields.

2) Exchange of experience and professionals in planning and construction of sports infrastructure (national training centers, youth and sports camps, sports-tourist complexes), as well as in the fields of management and utilization of large sports complexes.

3) Exchange of experience and examples of good practice in legal regulation and strategic documents of sports science, research and infrastructure developments.

Article 5

In order to implement this memorandum, the contracting parties shall encourage holding of meetings of their representatives, exchange of letters, or other instruments of cooperation.

Article 6

All the activities under this memorandum will be subject to the availability of budget resources of the contracting parties pursuant the laws and regulation of each country.

Article 7

The present memorandum will be amended upon mutual consent of the contracting parties.

The respective amendment will enter into force from the date of receiving answer from one of the contracting parties providing consent for approval of the proposed amendments.

Article 8

Any dispute regarding the interpretation or implementation of this memorandum will be settled by consultations or negotiations between the contracting parties.

Article 9

The present memorandum will come into effect on the day of its signing.

The memorandum will stay in effect for a period of four years and will be automatically renewed for the next four-year period, unless one of the contracting parties will inform the other through diplomatic channels about its intentions to terminate it within six months prior the expiration date.

The termination of this memorandum will not affect the validity of any ongoing activity under the memorandum until the completion of such activity, unless agreed otherwise.

This memorandum is signed in ……………….on ……………… in two original copies, each in Serbian, Arabic and English languages, all texts having equal validity. In case of any interpretation divergence hereof, the English text shall prevail.
