MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING ON MUTUAL COOPERATION BETWEEN THE DIPLOMATIC ACADEMY OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND THE MEDITERRANEAN ACADEMY OF DIPLOMATIC STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF MALTA

("Off. Herald of RS - Treaties", No. 12/2019)

The Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies at the University of Malta

(hereinafter referred to as the “two parties”);

Desirous to develop cooperation between the two institutions.

Have agreed to the following:

Article One

The aims of this memorandum:

A) To strengthen cooperation in the areas of information, research activities, and training programs, as well as the exchange of documents, studies, and expertise.

B) The cooperation between the two parties will not be guided by commercial considerations.

Article Two

A) The two parties recognize the need for developing and introducing modern methods in specialists training in: foreign policy, international relations, international law, foreign economic relations, political science and other pertinent subjects.

B) The two parties agree to cooperate in areas related to methods of instruction and research, and to consult each other in matters regarding foreign languages teaching.

C) The two parties agree to inform each other on matters related to teaching techniques, and scientific research along with the exchange of relevant literature, publications, and experts.

D) The two parties agree to exchange invitation of specialists to attend workshops, symposia and conferences.

E) The two parties agree to exchange expertise in areas related to library organization, education and the administration of educational institutions.

F) The two parties will promote meetings and discussion on issues of mutual interest with the participation of ministries, officials, representatives of diplomatic missions and their students and faculty members.

Article Three

The financial aspect of the Memorandum:

The two parties agree that the cost that might be incurred as a result of the implementation of any articles of this memorandum shall be covered by the party concerned.

Article Four

The execution of the memorandum:

A) This memorandum is to be implemented in accordance to laws and regulations that are in effect in the countries of the parties signatories to this memorandum.

B) The memorandum shall enter into force on the day of its signature for a period of three years and will be automatically extended for а subsequent period of one year, unless one of the Parties informs the other in written form of its intention to terminate it no later than three months prior to its termination.

The memorandum has been signed in English in New York on the date 25/9/2019.
