MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF DIPLOMATIC TRAINING BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND TRADE OF HUNGARY

("Off. Herald of RS - Treaties", No. 21/2021)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, hereinafter referred to each as the Participant and together as the "Participants".

Wishing to establish and further develop mutually beneficial cooperation for training of their diplomats in the field of diplomacy and the exchange of information on international law, diplomatic law economic diplomacy and other academic disciplines that are relevant for the practice of diplomacy and international relations,

Have reached the following understanding:

Paragraph I

The Participants will maintain an active exchange of information about their respective study programs and other relevant training activities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

Paragraph II

The Participants will facilitate the exchange of academics, conference speakers and experts in areas of common interest. The Participants will encourage lectures and presentations particularly by their officials in the framework of their training programs.

Paragraph III

The Participants will encourage participation of their diplomats in the trainings offered by each other and will consult on the possibilities of organizing courses and seminars that could be held alternately in Beograd and Budapest.

Paragraph IV

The Participants will facilitate the exchange of their respective publications, as well as pertinent texts from other public or private institutions in their respective countries.

Paragraph V

The Participants will exchange information related to activities of common interest, taking into special consideration the participation in meetings of regional and international character that involve academies and other academic institutions offering training for diplomats.

Paragraph VI

Each Participant shall bear their own costs of the aforementioned cooperation, in case Participants do not indicate otherwise in their mutual agreement formulated in writing.

Paragraph VII

Each Participant will fulfill its commitments undertaken by this Memorandum of Understanding in conformity with the legislation of their respective States. This Memorandum of Understanding will not constitute or be interpreted as an international agreement between the States of the Participants. No provision of this Memorandum of Understanding will be interpreted and implemented as creating legal rights or commitments for the States of the Participants.

Paragraph VIII

The present Memorandum of Understanding will come into effect on the day of signing and will be valid for 3 (three) years. Unless one of the Participants notifies the other of its intention to terminate the Memorandum of Understanding in written form at least 90 (ninety) days before the date of expiry, its validity will be extended for further periods of 3 (three) years.
