MEMORANDUMOF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA AND THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL ON BILATERAL CONSULTATIONS ("Off. Herald of RS - Treaties", No. 12/2025) |
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel (hereinafter referred to as "the Sides");
Sharing the desire to promote the friendly relations and cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the the State of Israel and to enhance the international cooperation and security;
Convinced that consultations between the Sides will benefit the development of the bilateral relations and cooperation in international affairs;
Resolute to intensify the dialogue concerning numerous issues of mutual interest between the two countries through cooperation between the Sides;
Have reached the following understandings;
Paragraph 1
1. The Sides will establish a procedure for bilateral consultations at a diplomatic level that will constitute a useful mechanism in order to promote their bilateral dialogue.
2. These consultations will:
a) examine the bilateral relations and other regional and international issues of mutual interest for both Sides;
b) review the implementation of bilateral and international agreements;
c) exchange views on matters of mutual concern, as well as on international cooperation.
Paragraph 2
The consultations will be held by representatives from both Sides, in either capital, alternatively.
Paragraph 3
The Sides will determine in advance, by mutual consent and through diplomatic channels, the levels, agenda, time, and place of the consultations.
Paragraph 4
The Sides will encourage cooperation between institutions of each country specializing in international relations, related to the political, development cooperation, economic and trade, scientific and technological, legal, cultural, and other fields.
Paragraph 5
1. Any activities carried out by a Side pursuant to this Memorandum will be done in accordance with its national laws and regulations.
2. All activities carried out pursuant to this Memorandum will be subject to the availability of funds.
Paragraph 6
Any differences of interpretation of the provisions of this Memorandum will be amicably between the Sides.
Paragraph 7
This Memorandum may be modified by mutual written consent of the Sides.
Paragraph 8
1. This Memorandum of Understanding will come into effect on the day of its signature and will remain in effect for a period of five (5) years. It will be automatically extended for additional periods of five (5) years each, unless one of the Sides notifies the other in writing, six (6) months in advance of its intention to terminate it.
2. The termination of this Memorandum will not affect any programs and activities carried out prior to the termination of this Memorandum, unless otherwise agreed to by the Sides.
Signed at Belgrade on the September 30th 2025, which corresponds to the Tishei, 8 5786, in the Hebrew calendar, in duplicate, in the English language, both texts being equally authentic.
